The New Year

Omg omg and omg again.
2009 is coming in about...... 7 and a half hours!
Don't take me with you! I don't wanna leave my dearly beloved 2008.
*sigh*

Over these past 366 days, I have grown, both mentally and physically.
I think I have matured, in a way. I look back at those childish moments of moi, and that is so passe. I believe 2008 has been quite an extraordinary year. A lot strucked me. Good and bad. Through out these 366 days, I learnt alot. I stepped into upper secondary; a totally different world academically, went through challenges and obstacles that really pushed me off limits and etc.

Well I compiled some moments which made a mark on my 'memory lane' in the year 2008:

1. I joined Blue House Cheerleading! And got 2nd. XD

Okay. Focus on me here. I know she's pretty. Lol.

2. Part of the exco of the organizing committee for Interact's Club significant project; Convent Fiesta.

3. I failed Add Maths for the March monthly test. But I got back and pulled my socks up! Hopefully no more next year.

4. Had some really fun sleepovers at Chicky's.

5. Attended and enjoyed SMI gathering. I have to say, that was so far one of the best gatherings I've attended. Those times where I kept on deciphering on the deeper meaning of 'Wrath of the Wind' and busy with marching and sketch. My first time as the mark timer in a marching competition. In fact, I was the only sole mark timer. Mwuahahaa. And presenting the banner. Gosh that moment was golden. XD

6. Had some good times during Rangers Camp. So leisure. That camp was fun, I have to say. :D

7. I got an A1 for Literature, although it's only monthly test. But that memory stays, bliss.

8. To get to learn Literature in school. Double bliss! And a very good teacher, Miss Lau to guide us along the way.

9. Had a helluva busy month preparing for Her Royal Highness Tuanku Zara Salim Day. Not Main Convent's Speech Day, Puan Loh has turned it into 'her' day.

10. Organized the Installation Day. I wore the prefect's uniform for the first time. Hee.

10. My class, 4 Lily had issues, with teachers e.g. Puan Mahani.

11. How grateful I am to be in my present class. It was one fun-filled year with those 24 other homosapiens. And an additional of Ann, the German exchange student.

12. Watched the Beijing Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremony on television. It was amazing, their performances. Utterly breathtaking. Through out the Olympics, I realised Michael Phelps is uber-hot. And lucky Kim Ong, such a hot fiance (Josiah Ng).

13. Enrolled as a ranger and was entrusted the Unit Leader post.

14. Went to my first camp as a madam, and was not treated like one. Hmmm.

15. Took the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) English Test by the University of New South Wales and got a credit, again. That test was extremely difficult. I felt pitiful for the standards of the English language in Malaysia. And quite sad for myself as well of course!

16. Had a wonderful birthday. My sweet sixteen is surely a memorable one. I cried twice on that day. It started out with me looking out a the starry night *tears!*. The presents, the cake-on-my-face-moment, Krity's poem, yummilicious Secret Recipe cake, great sushi moment with friends, and more wonderful moments on the 24th. :D

17. Organized Rangers Farewell party with the theme, 'Wannabe', which the seniors conveniently didn't dress up. Effortless.

18. Realize that I'm very effing fertile. Hahahhhaahaha.

19. Fell in love with Singapore! That country is almost perfect. Went for the Avenue Q musical in Esplanade. I really miss those 5 days I spent in Singapore.

At the National Museum of Singapore.

20. The Americans decided and their President-to-be is BARACK OBAMA, the first black to be holding the President post. And the black people were slaves back then in America. So long after they achieved Independence, finally! Will the same thing happen to Malaysia? Hmmm.

21. Part of the Betong Student Exchange Programme. That was really fun-filled excitement. To get to know these Thai Interactors and to bond with the Malaysian Interactors as well. Clad in traditional wear going around town. Delightful. :D

22. Went to the District Interact Conference in Klang for 3 days 2 nights. Now this is one deep memory for me. This conference opened my eyes to some things about people, and also myself. i had alot of fun, you know what I mean. XD XD XD. I was really crestfallen to leave that place. Oh I remember those days. Teehee.

23. Am completely hooked with music. Oldies; My ultimate favourite: The Beatles. Then there's Elvis, Queen etc. Hooked with local music once again; Lo, OAG, Estranged, Bittersweet, Butterfingers etc. Fell in love with romantic lurrrvve songs. Hehe.

The Beatles

24. Went for Sam Tet gathering. Although it's uber-expensive, but I did learn a few things from all the preparations etc. But they did quite well for their gathering night. And some of the money goes to charity.

25. Had fun during Christmas. Took alot of fun pictures. Anyways, Christmas is always nice. And pictures, *refers to the Christmas post. XD*

Well, I put on weight this year. I think I grew sideways this year. Seriously. Not taller, but I seem to can't fit into some of my clothes anymore. Too bloody tight. Oh my.

Once again, through out this year, I learned a lot. Uncountable experiences, memories and silly infatuations etc. I don't wanna leave 2008. I just have a fear for 2009 (I am so sorry! Lol). It's my final year in secondary school. SPM and other commitments, I think I mentioned this a gazillion times.

Oh well, my new years resolution is as follows:
1. Study. Like seriously, Angelyn Ho.
2. Be a good K.U.
3. Work out and get back into shape.
4. Be a nice person.
5. Get closer to my life's purpose.
6. Enjoy my last year in school!

Cupcake Chic

CUPCAKE CHIC

They are not just cakes. These are CUPCAKES!

Cupcake Chic started around December 2007 and it's one and only store is situated in The Curve, Petaling Jaya.

Cupcake Chic's mission is simple; to put a smile on their customer's face.

Quote from cupcakechic.com.my : Let's face it. Cupcakes have been around for ages and they are everywhere. But GREAT cupcakes are hard to find.

"We decided to bury the rampant 'dumb blonde' cupcakes (which looked pretty but lacked quality) that had started to flood urban Kuala Lumpur and bring back THE cupcake to its original heyday."

Cupcake Chic claims to have cupcakes which are larger in size compared to the typical cupcake.

Well, the store at The Curve is indeed very chic and sleek, like the name of the store. The mixture of black and fuchsia blends perfectly to create the uber-urban look.

The menu, having 25 different flavours of cupcakes with very creative and adorable names for each.

Back to Basics; Vanilla Cake with Vanilla frosting

I <3 cupcakes.

Verdict: The shop and it's architecture is really hip and urban. Certainly young people will be very attracted to the shop and get our hands on at least one cupcake. My first impression of those cupcakes were "Why is the icing so little?". With the price of rm4.50/cupcake, I think some of us might think it's a bit expensive. If you purchase half a dozen, which was what I did, it'll be rm25. Still quite costly. But if you really wanna get your hands on more cupcakes and is filthy rich, go for one dozen of em at rm48.

Well, personally I have a soft spot for really sweet cupcakes with a lot of icing. Cute swirls of it. Wonderful! I can say that Cupcake Chic offers them quite similar to my taste except for the very miniscule amount of icing. The flat surface is quite a turn off for me.

In a nutshell, the cupcakes are quite adorable to look at and nice to taste, but bloody hell to costly for my taste!

Christmas 2008

Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
fa la la la la la la la la.
Tis' the season to be jolly,
fa la la la la la la la la.

Although Christmas is so....4 days ago, it's never too late as Christmas last twelve days from the December 25 to January 6. This period is also known as Christmastide.

Anyways, my family and I head down to KL like what we usually do every year to meet up with my relatives. Mainly, the patriarch side of the family.

I have to say, Christmas this year is a tad bit quiet. So much for a silent night. Haha.

Date: 24th December 2008
Location: Damansara

There's no barbecue dinner this year. No Christmas dinner! Aiseh, this year so mundane. The Christmas tree, like every other year. My aunt uses the 'white Christmas' theme. Actually there are more gifts under the Christmas tree, it's just all hidden. Lol.

When there's Christmas, there's liquor.

Pama, a pomegranate wine and Hpnotiq, an exquisite blend of premium vodka, natural tropical fruit juices and a hint of Cognac.

A better capture of the Christmas tree

Nativity scene or creche

That vodka, I repeat, an exquisite blend of premium vodka, natural tropical fruit juices and a hint of Cognac which combines to produce it's signature blue colour. And it's alcohol volume: 17%.
Verdict: This appealing hue of liquor appears to be hypnotising till one can grasp hold of the bottle and pour the drink into a sleek wine glass. The drop of liquor on one's tongue may taste sweet but by the next second, that sweet juicy flavour will slowly reduce to a very bitter one. Fruity-tutty lovers will enjoy this. But then again, I'm not a big fan of alcohol. Lol.

The Starry Night by Vince Van Gogh. Of course this is just a replica.

At the strike of twelve, it's Christmas Day! Received texts from friends but no family as most of them were here. Lol. We opened our presents and this is what I got; a music box, a Tamagotchi, a mirror, a Morgan T-shirt, a souvenir shirt from Australia and a handphone holder.

This year is rather quiet like what I've mentioned earlier. My cousin, Wai Wai is in Singapore doing her internship and couldn't make it to KL. My eldest cousin on my father's side, who's a nurse couldn't make it as well as she has fixed shifts. My cousin brother and his family were in Hong Kong. So not much laughters and wailings this year. It's all silent.

Normally our Christmas is spent out shopping. So on the 25th, we headed to Sunway Pyramid. The traffic there is utterly insane, but then again, it's KL area la kan. What do I expect? Tsk tsk. Traffic congestion drives me nuts and I'm not even driving yet! Haha.

I really like the Christmas decorations in Sunway. Actually Sunway is quite a nice place to shop and hang out and stuff. The stores there are more catered to youngsters. And I understand why Krity says that Sunway is THE place to go. Hahaha.

I tell you, my mom can't get away from Marks and Spencer.

What is Boxing Day and why is it called as such?
Boxing Day is a bank holiday or a public holiday in the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Commonwealth countries with a mainly Christian population.
Well, this expression of 'boxing' came about because money was collected in alms-boxes placed in churches during the festive season. The money was then distributed to the poor and needy after Christmas.

The next day, Boxing Day!, my mom, sister, cousin and I went to KLCC via LRT. That is what we normally do. Take a train to KLCC to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The train ride takes about 30-35 minutes with a ticket rate of rm2.40/one way. In the LRT, you can observe many things. From the condition of the seats to the flooring, and to the citizens from various walks of life all in that train ride.

KLCC is a must-go whenever you're in KL, seriously. I don't shop much in KLCC cause the stuffs are way out of my price range, but they are nice to look. The place is packed with a mixture of locals and foreigners. Alot of angmohs and a fair amount of Middle Easterners.

This is kinda creepy but I caught this middle eastern guy looking at my boobs. He's kinda tall and I'm short so.... you get the picture.

Anyways, had tea at Dome. I tell you, Honeycomb Goldrush is a must-try. Ice blended coffee with blended and topped with big chunks of golden honeycomb chocolate. Espresso at it's best. :D

Clockwise from top: Gourmet Chicken and Mushroom Pie; coffee; Egg Mayo sandwich.

Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream

The last day for shopping in KL. 27th December is quite a date to remember. Because on this date exactly one year ago, the PMR results were out. Speaking of PMR results, best of luck to all form 3's tomorrow. The date of release is 30th right.?

Oh well.
On that Saturday, we went to Ikea, Ikano and The Curve. It's linked you see, so it's reachable on foot. Spend quite some time in The Curve. Bought some clothes for CNY but am still gonna get more. Hehe. Read a lil in Borders. Had a sudden want to get the japanese flag or Nisshoki for rm5 from Daiso but I didn't follow my heart. Why do I want to get that for? Pffft. Hahaha. Saw some mascots; two were angels on tilts, one was a fuzzy lion, and etc.

Anyways, spent a long time in Ikea. How do you pronounce Ikea? Many Malaysians pronounced it as 'EE-KEE-AH'. Some Westerners got it as 'I-KEE-AH' or even 'I-KEH-AH' but it's actually 'EE-KEH-AH'.
My sister bought a Christmas themed blanket. Now I have 3 of those! Lol. Took alot of fun snaps but I only loaded a few here. ;D

p/s: That toy dog you see in my cousin's arms was actually on sale in Ikea. Ha!

I like the lighting here.

Candid.

Audrey Hepburn!

Cheese by Adeline Ho.

Happy pout by Angelyn Ho.

Oh! This is a pretty gift. XD

Getting comfortable. =)

Cheers!

Make yourself at home, in Ikea! XD

Through out the Christmas holiday I had in KL, I stayed up late with my cousins to watch movies and have munchies. All those nights, we watched Susuk, Grimm Love and Don't Mess With The Zohan. The first two sucked. Especially Grimm Love. It's like every year we have to watch a sick movie. Zohan was kinda disgusting lah, but funny. I laughed through out the show. It was quite pointless but at least it entertained us through out the wee hours of the morning.

I have to say, Christmas spent this year, not so jolly like those of previous years. But it wasn't that miserable. It's just more simple this time. I enjoyed myself. Had fun. Ate alot the past couple of days. Like seriously. I see the flabby arms comin'! And the lipids accumulating in my stomach and thighs. One more week to work out, get my brain to function academically, and just enjoy the dawn of 2009. ;D

101th Post

I didn't realise that my previous post, Blue Hue, is actually my 100th post. Well, yay to Britangelot!

From this day onwards, I shall blog with gist and substance. I shall blog as I please and whatever I churn out is an opinion of mine whether you like it or not. The reason of me starting a blog is for me to express my feelings and views and opinions.

Anyways, through out these 8 months as a 'blogger'. Weird as it sounds, since I blog, that makes me a blogger. Haha. As I was saying, as a blogger, I've blog about a lot of things. As I can recall, I've blogged about things revolving around me, be it world politics or Malaysian education, my personal life, my personal sentiments, events I am involved in, or even a budding artiste.

A walk down the memory lane, I had some posts which I favour. I remember once I blogged about the Malaysian stereotype and a few times about the Malaysian education. Looking back, I blogged a lot when I was emo. Haha. I remembered several long ones like Rangers enrolment and coy camp, Puan Mahani's case, 24/9, and the recent 'Pet Society + Sam Tet gathering'. I think I posted alot of my habit of thinking and silly infatuations. Ha ha ha.

Well, in my opinion, I'd rather blog with essence and stuff. And I prefer to read blogs with as such substance. Really artistic captures are part of my favourites too. Bloggers who post daily situations in an expressive manner and relates with a personal response are highly respected by moi.

When I blog, I tend to relate things around me to myself. That is how I roll. Through out my posts, I blogged a lot about thinking. Truthfully, the people around me, the things I see sets me into a deep thought. And somehow in someway, I will relate that to myself. And through that, I will churn out a lot of gibberish, and sometimes meaningful stuff. I tend to give almost everything a thought.

The Thinker by Auguste Rodin

With thoughts, one can flourish and churn out exquisite creations. Through one's thoughts, life can be coloured to one's desired path. Thinking is one step to many wonderful things in life. Everything you do, begins with a simple thing, 'thought'.

So people who actually reads my blog, before you hit the hay, give the day a thought. It's about time to take note of the things and people revolving around. Life is more than just me, myself and I. Think about things you have not been given a thought and how it all cease the day. :D

Blue Hue

Right now I feel like painting my nails black and white and mourn my blog for it's feeble posts and hush hush conditions. Dang!

Anyways, I have been dipping into the pool of chronic cerulean hue. Reality check and 2008 is coming to an end with 2009 dawning, hopefully to a better beginning.

Omigod. I'm turning seventeen next year. SPM next year! Commitments and responsibilities supremed, next year! Future after SPM, next year!

I'm suppose to be jolly and gay because Christmas is around the corner. 2 days left! The fear and anxiety begin to take it's toll on me. The accumulated stress piles up even more next year. Well well well, I have to do something something about it. I am on the threshold of the life of a mature young lady. :D

***

I think I love you, through the shimmer of your dark eyes,
I think I love you, the way your smile perks up my day,
I think I love you, how your body speaks with precise,
I think I love you, as your heart leads my way.
I think, I love you even more, not just of that exquisite face,
but because you are of God's grace.

Azwin Andy, Estranged

I am currently drooling over this hottie, Azwin Andy. He's like uber-hangat kan? To those that are not familiar with the name mentioned, Azwin Andy is the drummer from a local band by the name of Estranged. Estranged is quite good for local standards and my personal opinion, Itu Kamu is their best hit so far.

Those dimples makes him even cuter! :D

Estranged

Fooooooooood

Yesterday, I had Japanese for dinner in Kampai. Initially I wanna go Kopitiam cause I'm so craving for french toast but my sister insisted, so la-di-da-da.

I ordered udon.

My sister's chicken teriyaki.

I didn't have much as my stomach was not well, again. Seriously I don't know what is wrong with my digestion these days. I eat at the right time with proper food but darn.

Thank god I went out of the house last night. Or else separated from the outside world till........ today! Lol. Speaking of staying at home, I haven't done anything fruitful the past couple of days. I've been onlining and onlining and onlining like no one's else's business. Hahahaha.

Right now, at this very moment, I crave for food. I have to admit, I did put on weight these couple of months and it has all gone to the belly. Damn. I need Dr Oz's lipo work 'ere! Lol.

Current foodie desires:
1. Old Town Kopitiam's French Toast [with loads of honey]

2. Maple syrup waffles

3. Cupcakes

4. Grilled chicken leg

I feel so sad at home. It has been long since I've seen my friends. Well, I saw SY and those that went for gathering lah. Krity, who is currently I don't know, Regine who's in Singapore now. Or not. Haha. And it's December 19th. Clock is ticking. Even A.M. is getting older. Hahaha. Oh, I have to go to school on monday. Time to brainstorm for significant project, Angy!
