Photographers don't have it easy. I, to say the least, not even achieving amateur status, really salute the professional photographers. The responsibility of producing good photographs, alongside with the burden of the equipment, maintenance, recruiting of models, sets, lighting, backdrop, props and costumes, etc., it's not easy. So I really take my hats off to them!
The whole of last week, I had to finish up my second project for my Photography unit; Studio Portraiture. The thing is, this time round, we had to get our own models, and shoot in the studio. The days of shooting syok sendiri pictures outdoors are now bygones.
This time, we have advanced. We are now entering the studio, with all the fancy gadgets to LIGHTS CAMERA POSE!
Setting up the set is a HASSLE. Thank god for Mr. Zul (photographer/technician), help from him makes things a lot easier. That is my model, Christina. She's awesome, and liberal, and great to photograph. If only I had better photographing skills, our photo-shooting would have been great. Nonetheless, it was not bad, we had fun and the after-party was good too! :D
For this subject, as I mentioned earlier, we had to get our models to shoot. We were given 5 themes; Outrageous, Dangerous, Sexy, Sweet and Conservative. I opted for Outrageous, Dangerous, and a tinge of Sexy because... Come on, my model is one hot thing. I cannot not do sexy. :P
Melia got me to do Sexy Seductress/Office Girl for her. I was willing, but due to my lack of self-confidence and whatnot, I was a bit uncomfortable at first. But as time progressed, the shoot was a fun one. Melia did well as a photographer, boosting her model's confidence, and Christina, who was an awesome Jay Manuel.

The shots itself, Office Lady in action!
Loads of fun shooting. I love the blackness. Lights and backdrop and all that. Words of encouragement from one photographer and model coach. Really really fun time. Despite the heavy makeup, which isn't my thing, but it sorta helped boost my confidence a little. Except for the part when it got smudgy and everything. Hahaha. A more professional touch to our work this time. Progress ftw!
The day after was my turn to shoot my beloved model. Due to time constraint, I had to rush things through, so the photos weren't at their prime. But it's still fab, cause I've got a fab model who's good to work with.
The Model Who Strives for Freedom of Speech
The Desperate Housewife

Gulliver's Girl
The 'Brownie'-eating Pothead
I have many other pictures, but some are pretty inappropriate to be uploaded on the internet. So these are the decent ones.. My lecturer liked the concept I had; particularly the freedom of speech one. This session was short, but it was fun to browse through the pictures, over 200 of them. Photoshop-editing was a pain in the ass, I have to say. But the end product turned out well. All the brouhaha with the studio-booking and having to deal with difficult people, my model and friend, Christina, really helped me sail through.
And of course with a few other boosters along the way! Can you imagine, I had M&M's seven days a week! <3 And speaking of M&M's, Peanuts a.k.a. my Marketing lecturer, is making fun at the class. He's got this recurring joke going on, and he cannot stop saying it, in our face! Omggggggg... I should get a picture of him one day. Or upload a video of him in class. Peanuts, as what he says, "I'm no ordinary lecturer".
Last week was pretty hectic, not enough sleep, and not enough hours in a day. Especially towards at night. I thought of taking a break and not going anywhere for two days; yesterday and today. Tomorrow will be a long day, what with a quiz for both Principles of Marketing and Media Management. It's already Mid-March. Has it really been that fast?
After a long week of projects and presentations, I decided to reward myself with more Dave's! It's a good bistro bar and grill. That was our second time, I wouldn't mind going there more often. Teehee. Maybe next month, when my allowance comes in for April. :P
I should blog about how cool Dave's is.. They have a wall full of Beatles memorabilia. It defines us. It's a place where we could appreciate good food, good beer...... and The Beatles. :)
Enough of college talk, I met up with the fellow BratsPg at Sunway. Not many turned up, but it was still awesome. Cause we awesome yo! I haven't seen them for a year. We chose Sunday because it was exactly a year before that we met for the Brats Programme. Good times, good times.
Picture from Jan's blog. Claire and Ben weren't here, but we met up. :)
Now... I really should get back to studying for my Marketing quiz, before Peanuts gets furious with us. I don't wanna let him down. I don't really like Wednesdays already, cause there's classes the whole day! And Peanuts's class is at the later part of the day. Super yawn-fest!
Well well, my love-hate relationship with college is not that bad now. I began seeing the better of things, ever since the start of the year. Which is good for me f.y.i. The days are numbering, and the semester is coming to an end in a month's time. And I miss home terribly. Ipoh ipoh, food food food. And the girls back home. I will go to Ipoh one day! Soon! But for now, faretheewell kthxbai.
