If there would be an awesome quota in life, I think I've reached it. At least, for the month of March. And the best of it all, back-to-back awesomeness that went on for days. March was epic, very epic indeed.
Batu Caves was mentioned way back when as one of our awesome things to do, instead of being lifeless all the time. And finally, on a beautiful Friday, we decided to defy all odds and go to Batu Caves!
16 flights of steps, 17 steps per flight, 272 STEPS ALTOGETHER! And boy, were they steep! But ha! In your face, doubters who went, "You really climb all the way up? Like seriously??"
Of course la macha. We're there, it's Batu Caves, the steps, Batu Caves, Batu Caves and Batu Caves. It's a bit ridiculous to not climb up, no?
It was an experience alright, as it's one of the most popular Hindu shrines out of India. Monkeys are a familiar sight around the area. And pigeons too. Like, loads of flocking pigeons. And monkeys. Monkeys, monkeys, monkeys.
They are not all that scary-looking. In fact, they are pretty smart creatures. Smart enough to maneuver a bag of Mentos sweets and eating them. We were observing from a reasonable distance, in awe. Maybe not smart smart, but rather, cheeky smart, 'em monkeys.
We came across that when we were getting down, and it's definitely a showstopper. It'll be so morally-impolite to make fun of a goddess statue with breasts, wings and what I believe to be cow udders, but but but! It's so intriguing.. One can't help but to stop and stare. Well, neither of us are Hindus, so if anyone would be kind enough to explain what it means, I would really really really appreciate it. :)
Climbing the steps, up and down, is no child's play. But it's not that tough also. I really salute those Hindu devotees that climb the steps on a regular basis as part of their routine during prayers and whatnot. Such strong will and devotion to God.
The caves, rock formations and nature in general are a sight you don't come across that much. It makes you think, years back, way back when, what were the activities? How was life then? The limestone forming is said to be over 400 million years old. That's prehistoric shiz there!
Has paying Batu Caves a visit ever crossed your mind? Stop thinking, and go already! At least, when someone asks, you can go, "Yeah I've been there, done that. It's all cooooool," :))))

Speaking of nature, you know what else is awesome? Chilling out at a beach, sitting on some rocks, or on dry beach sand, with a can of beer. The sound of waves; so peaceful, so serene.
We have plenty of pretty islands here in Peninsular Malaysia. Redang, Tioman, Langkawi, to name a few. But
the few beaches along the Straits of Malacca is equally as good. The waters may not be as clean, as blue, and the seawater smell can be quite nauseating at times, but hey, it's the beach. Think of the gushing waves, the coconut trees, and the sanddddd! Running around the beach, with jeans folded up 'kampung style', slowly sinking your feet into the wet sand at the foreshore, and letting the waves damp most of your lower body. <3

Tell me, how can you not like the beach?
I miss Penang very much. I miss Penang, road trips, and the girls back home. Those fun makan times, and the beach. If only I'd live near the beach. A beach house! Oh, I wanna go to Penang soon! Beach, food, shopping, need I say more?!
And speaking of more nature, you know what else is as awesome? Lying down on a field. Feeling the grass. Rolling around. You, and nature, as one.
Think, the most beautiful plain field, full of lush green. Maybe a tree somewhere in the middle. Think think, Russell Peters Bollywood Movies!

Violence in front of your eyes. Not everyday I get to see one. So when the day arrived when the boy and the black guy are to bash each other up, I GOTS TO SEE THIS. HAHAHA. Pro-boxing, Muay Thai, and Mix Martial Arts matches, all seem so foreign to me. There were blood, a she-male Muay Thai fighter, and loads of scary buff-ed up people. First time, ringside, fighters, violence violence and violence in the ring! Woooo!
P.S. I've always been ranting about procrastination and assignments and shiz. I've got a marketing case study, my final photography project; commercial photography (fml), and essays aplenty. I will do it soon. Soon soon soon. But as for now, I really don't wanna hear people gloating in front of my face. Not cool, not cooooooll.
P.P.S. My third photography project: Photo Manipulation! Got the Desperate Housewives and American Gothic inspiration. Me loves.
ME LIKE ME DO. GOODNIGHT. <3
